Horseshoe lounge

HorseshoeLounge

The counter at the Horseshoe Lounge, still at mile 887 in Denver.

On my last night in Denver Brian and I hit up the Horseshoe lounge for drinks. On whiskey Wednesday. I forget now exactly how much it was but it was so so cheap. The place has a 1950s Vegas lounge vibe. My gloves – the last piece of kit that was stolen and needed to be replaced – had come in that morning.

I almost forgot the place had a jukebox until Brian passed me a dollar. It was a sweet gesture. I wouldn’t have spent it myself but now I picked my three songs, the first one blasting out the place until the staff turned it down a bit (a shame). Sinister Kid by the Black Keys, Waiting to Pretend by MGMT and Golden Years by David Bowie.
