File under: people suuuuuuuuck.
Today was supposed to be for the Denver Botanic Gardens and sauntering the day away. I go for a jacket from the saddlebags on the bike to find that some asshole has cleaned out both of them.
My afternoon is now paperwork, police reports and insurance claims. Some things I can’t replace. Some things I won’t. Some things I’ll have to replace before I can leave Denver. But my notebooks are safe so it’s nothing I can’t come back from, even if the violation of it will be hard to shake. As far as I know the bike itself is okay.
These are the things asshole didn’t take: a tire pressure gauge, a USB charger, one tube of sunscreen (asshole took the other two. Why not?), and that black plastic thing.
When I was gearing up for the trip dad suggested I get a cigarette lighter adapter to plug into my bike’s battery. That way I could charge electronics going down the road. His has been corroded by the weather because the flimsy cover broke off so he advised I look for something more durable. Well, now my adapter’s been stolen, but that black plastic thing? That’s the cover.
